The house, room by room

A low house with pale shutters, set on fully enclosed grounds. No steps, no overlooking neighbours, and the same light from morning to evening.

Overview

What you find when you push the door open

La Maladrerie is not a flat furnished for tourists. It is a 160 sqm family house, left as it has always been, with the comforts you expect today.

The plan is simple and easy to read: one long single-storey building facing due south onto the garden, with all the living rooms opening onto the same glazed façade. The bedrooms sit apart, on the quiet side. Between the two, the billiard room and the utility room form a useful buffer when everyone’s rhythm starts to diverge.

Expect a large kitchen, a dining room, a lounge, a billiard room, three bedrooms, a bathroom, two separate toilets and a utility room. Nothing superfluous, nothing missing.

Layout

No stairs and no wasted corridor

The 160 square metres unfold on one single level. In practice: a pushchair goes everywhere, a suitcase never has to be carried up, and a guest with reduced mobility can move from room to room without a serious obstacle.

The three bedrooms are grouped at one end, with the bathroom and one of the two toilets. The living rooms occupy the other. In between, the utility room absorbs the noise of the washing machine and the wet clothes of rainy days.

Frequently asked questions

Is the house really all on one level?
Yes. All 160 sqm sit on a single floor, with no step between the bedrooms, the bathroom and the garden. It is one of the reasons the house suits families with small children and less mobile travellers equally well.
Is bed linen provided?
Bed linen and towels can be provided on request when you book — just mention it in your message and we will confirm the supplement. The house also has a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
Can we come with a baby?
Yes, and the fully enclosed grounds have a lot to do with it. Tell us the ages of your children in your enquiry and we will let you know what we can make available.
Are pets allowed?
The house does not accept pets, in order to protect the period furniture and the comfort of the guests who follow.
Is there parking?
Yes, free of charge inside the enclosed property — no hunting for a space in the village on market or festival days.
